The craft of silk painting is now well established in the U.K. and we supply what many consider to be the superior silk paint.

Extremely concentrated, these dyes must be diluted at least 10% with alcohol, water or diffusant fondnet.

Used mainly with theGutta ‘Serti’ method. they may also be thickened with Epaissisant for direct painting with no resist.

Steaming fixes the dye and vastly improves the colour
(see steamers and steaming service).

Reinforces fixing in case of colour overloading.

After steam/iron fixing, wash silks with Lavnet, then soak them in a

bucket of water with Surfix (1 tablespoon to 1 litre of water).

(In case of eye contact rinse immediately with water).

Gutta Solvent Based

About Gutta:

To stop the dye spreading on silk Gutta, (a cold resist), is used.

Gutta can be thinned down with lighter fuel or Gutta dilutant and applied to the fabric using a pipette or home made funnel.

For fine consistent lines a normographic nib is recommended.

Remove Gutta with white spirit or by dry cleaning.

Shake bottle well.* Colour will be removed if cloth is dry cleaned.
